The Empower Yakhani! project was created to assist in the development and progress of emerging businesses in South Africa. The project provides a solution for Enterprise Development donors through a properly administered, responsible and measurable programme.

While not the major driver of the programme, the additional incentive of companies receiving BBBEE ratings for Enterprise Development has raised awareness of the needs of emerging businesses, and encourages donors to help in this regard.

Empower Yakhani!'s business support structure is based on its "Circles of Support" and "No Business will be Left Alone" concepts. No emerging business participating in the programme will be left without assistance. Help is always a cell-call or email away.

Who is Empower Yakhani!? Empower Yakhani! is a division of Azurenomix (Pty) Ltd working with our BEE consultant network. Azurenomix is a Business Turnaround and Business Improvement Consultancy which understands the need for the guidance and mentorship required by small and medium businesses. Our network consultants have been involved in BEE auditing and consulting for several years and have extensive up-to-date knowledge of DTI codes and BEE accreditation requirements.

Client participation in structured BEE Programmes

As a company wishing to enhance your BEE profile, you can consider several options:

Contribute to an existing Empower Yakhani! programme and thereby ensure that you achieve your full Enterprise Development (ED) score in your BEE audit.

Start your own ED programme under the direction of Empower Yakhani! by offering SME entrepreneurial opportunities:

- to your staff, or
- to business operators in a selected geographical area or community, or in a specified industry.

BEE Scorecard & Accreditation

You will need to invest a percentage of your after-tax income in order to achieve the full points in your BEE score for the Enterprise Development pillar. Empower Yakhani! will work with you to ensure that you achieve this through a combination of your own overheads and costs incurred, and any amounts that you inject into an Empower Yakhani! project.

Business & Management Training

Empower Yakhani! runs training courses to meet the needs of our developing entrepreneurs and their key employees. Training is based on our structured programme covering most aspects of business, but is adapted to the unique levels and experience of participants.

Training includes finance and working capital management, administration, marketing and sales, processes and operations, statutory requirements, customer service, management skills and development, and where necessary special training for industry requirements.
